Mission Statement
The purpose of DYCW is
to provide social, educational, and recreational extracurricular activities for the teen and pre-teen youth in the DC Community.
Our Organization has made various activities available for the youth in our community to participate in. These activities
include musical and dramatic training, computer education, sports, and an anti-drug project. DYCW is aiming to help educate
and guide the young adults in our area with fun and constructive events. By doing this we can help raise productive and successful
adults.
The Production Workshop
The Production Workshop (PD) of the Dawson Youth Community Workshop (DYCW) is the fastest
growing and most popular workshop at DYCW. The PD allows youth the opportunity to learn all phases of the recording industry.

and showing them on public access TV stations. The PD also raises funds for DYCW by selling C-D’s, which they have produced,
and performing at different venues. The PD has completed three C-D's. The production workshop has been so successful in
producing artist that they have set up a booking and talent agency called "The D.C. Allstars" to promote the talent

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverb
22:6
As a parent, aunt, uncle, grandparent, or family member, we all have had a hand in raising
our beautiful children, and believe me, they hear and listen to us. They approach graduation and beyond, as they consider
the next phase in their life. Some of them want to go to college, but they see how hard Mom and Dad have struggled just to
get them this far. They hear how college can cost from $8,000 -$22,000 per year, Then they start thinking of alternatives
(military service, part time, or maybe later). We have established "The George & Exenea Dawson Scholarship
Fund". We give out scholarships to deserving high school graduates, who have had a successful experience in
high school, succeeding not only in academics, but also in extra-curricular activities. For more information about our Scholarship
Fund, please contact us at the number on the bottom of this page. George Dawson Jr.

The Dawson Youth Community Workshop 2010 Scholarship Fund The
Dawson Youth Community Workshop (DYCW) is conducting its annual scholarship fundraiser for 2010. Our goal is to raise $5,000.00
in order to give out 10 - $500.00 non-cash scholarship to well deserving freshman student. The non-cash
scholarships will consist of what DYCW calls a “goodie bag (box)” that the new student will find useful for the
transition into college life. DYCW plan to provide five scholarships for boys and five for girls. The scholarships will be
on a first come first serve basis. The student will have to qualify for the scholarship by writing a paper on “Slavery”. I
am asking all of my readers to inform potential candidates of this opportunity. I am also asking all of my readers to make
a tax-deductible contribution to the DYCW Scholarship Fund. The non-cash scholarship goodie bag will
consist of things the student will enjoy. Things such as gift cards to Star Bucks, McDonalds, Pizza Hut, etc. Cafeteria and
bookstore credits. American Express and Visa debit cards and many other popular things etc. The paper
on “Slavery that the student must write can cover any part or phase of the African slave trade and / or it‘s effect
on the present. It can even cover it from the Europeans perspective. The papers will be published in the African American
Entrepreneur Newsletter.
